These guidelines are here to help guide Over40CONNECT and make sure we keep the vibe positive and friendly.

Safety

At Over40CONNECT, we do our best to vet and check profiles, but we can't be held responsible for individuals who may present false information. We will endeavor to check out everyone. 

Our community rules emphasize kindness, no drama, no sexual aggression, and are designed for individuals over 40, ideally within a 3-hour radius of Ottawa, with a few notable exceptions. 

Over40CONNECT is a community of friends run by a small, passionately dedicated group. If you have information that will help us keep this community safe, please email us at admin@over40connect.com.

Make Discussions Shine
Help us make this a great place for discussion by always adding something positive to the discussion, however small. If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later.

One way to improve the discussion is by discovering ones that are already happening. Spend time browsing the topics here before replying or starting your own, and you’ll have a better chance of meeting others who share your interests.

The topics we chat about matter, so let’s treat them with respect. Even if we disagree, let’s keep it civil and focus on ideas, not people.

It’s okay to disagree; it keeps things interesting! But let’s criticize ideas, not each other. Be kind and share thoughtful insights that make the conversation better.

If You Spot a Snag, Flag It
Our moderators are like community superheroes, and you’re one too! When you see something off, don’t waste energy on a reply. Just hit that flag button. With enough flags, action will be taken to keep Over40CONNECT kind, fun, safe and inclusive.

Keep It Friendly
Nothing spoils a good chat like rudeness. Be civil, keep it clean, and respect one another. No offensive stuff, harassment, or spam allowed. Remember, this is a public space.
